Objects
To protect and promote children’s survival rights, participation/empowerment rights, protection rights, development rights and welfare rights for the advancement of the status of children within the family, the school and the community.
To ensure the application of the principle of the best interests of the child in all activities carried out by the Company.
To respect the traditional and cultural norms, customs and practices concerning children provided such norms, customs and practices are not contrary to the principle of the best interests of the child and are not harmful to the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical development, health and well-being of children.
To provide, arrange and or facilitate access to information on matters concerning children’s survival rights, participation/empowerment rights, protection rights, development rights and welfare rights to children, individuals, group of individuals, professionals, law enforcement authorities, teachers, clergy, local and international government institutions and authorities, local and international non-governmental organizations and provide, arrange and or facilitate access to independent professional counseling services to children.
To undertake and develop project proposals for the practical implementation of international laws and domestic laws concerning children’s survival rights, participation/empowerment rights, protection rights, development rights and welfare rights guaranteed in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
To undertake, develop, carry out, conduct, implement, monitor and evaluate child rights projects, academic research, needs assessment studies, situation analysis research and the like on the international laws and domestic laws concerning children’s survival rights, participation/empowerment rights, protection rights, development rights and welfare rights.
To organise, conduct, sponsor and hold seminars, conferences, group studies, classes, public studies, exhibitions and the like, and to conduct training programmes, lectures and similar programmes on the international laws and domestic laws concerning children’s survival rights, participation/empowerment rights, protection rights, development rights and welfare rights, with a view to educate and create awareness among children, professionals, non-professionals, parents, legal guardians and members of extended families.
To publish and/or produce books, periodicals, pamphlets, leaflets, slides, films, videos, compact discs and other material on the international laws and domestic laws concerning children’s survival rights, participation/empowerment rights, protection rights, development rights and welfare rights with a view to educate and create awareness among children, professionals, non-professionals, parents, legal guardians and members of extended families.
